What a dirty coil costs you before it fails

A loaded evaporator coil does not announce itself. Airflow drops first. The coil then runs colder and sweats harder. Ice creeps down the suction line. Liquid refrigerant can reach the compressor. On the condenser side, matted fins raise head pressure, and the compressor runs hot through a long Elk Grove cooling season. That is the expensive failure. Water is the second risk.
